Do you need help and advice after your macular hole diagnosis?

Have you just been diagnosed with a macular hole or retinal detachment and are feeling confused and looking on the internet for advice? We would highly recommend you call the free and confidential national charity for central vision loss – The Macular Society.

The Macular Society has been supporting people with macular conditions for over 30 years and funding research to find cures to macular diseases. They offer a telephone helpline with friendly and knowledgeable, professional staff who can answer questions and provide information and advice about any aspect of living with macular disease. However, please note they are not medically qualified and cannot give medical advice.

The Macular Society also have over 400 local groups run by dedicated volunteers, most of whom have macular disease or know someone who has a macular condition. Groups offer support and help and often share information about obtaining treatment, low visions aids, other services and staying independent. The support groups are open to anyone with a macular condition, their family and friends.

For more information contact the Macular Society Helpline on 0300 3030 111 (Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm) or email help@macularsociety.org
